Goodyear AZ houses for sale, Real estate Goodyear AZ

In 1916 the Goodyear Tire Company purchased 16,000-acres southwest of Phoenix to grown cotton for their tires. However, Goodyear didn’t become a town until November 1946. Then, it consisted of just 151 houses and 250 apartments, one grocery store, one gas station, a barbershop, and a beauty shop.

While Goodyear began way back in 1917, it didn’t really begin to grow until the 1990s; by then, Goodyear Tires had sold off the remainder of their 16,000-acres of cotton fields to developers. There are twenty-two communities under development, encompassing approximately 20,000-acres of Goodyear AZ real estate. These master-planned communities will have nearly 200,000 Goodyear AZ homes for sale; currently, there are only 25,000 built.

According to the website Opendoor, Goodyear ranked #5 in popularity, when it comes to buying a home in the Phoenix metro area. There is a wide variety of Goodyear homes for sale, from houses big enough for a family to modestly-sized homes for singles and seniors. As the population of Goodyear continues to grow, Goodyear real estate developers are working diligently to keep up with the demand for Goodyear real estate.

One of the reasons for Goodyear’s popularity is its proximity to nature; the 20,000-acre Estrella Mountain Regional Park is just south of town. The park is a paradise of pristine Sonoran desert, the very landscape which was first seen by the early settlers. Here, you can hike high up into the Sierra Estrella Mountains, and look down at a panoramic view of the valley.

The Goodyear Ballpark is another great place to relax Goodyear; it’s the Spring training home of the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Indians. The ballpark also hosts fun Guinness Book of World Records events for the community; Goodyear is the proud record holder for the Largest Soul Train Dance. That record was accomplished in center field during the 2014 4th of July celebration. The previous year, Goodyear seized the record for "Largest Gathering of People Wearing False Mustaches" when 1,957 people donned fake mustaches to break the existing Guinness World Record.

Goodyear is a family-friendly place, with more than 82% of the population married, and 57% of those have children under the age of 18. Goodyear also scores an A+ for its local amenities. If you’re looking for a place close to the big city with a small-town feel, Goodyear might be a good fit, whether you’re single, a senior, or a family.
