REO: Real
Estate Owned, Bank owned home as a result of a foreclosure or a Deed in
Lieu
Deed in Lieu: A
way to forfeit your property to the bank to avoid foreclosure.
Short Sale:
Seller is asking the bank to forgive part of the mortgage if the home is
worth less than owed, The bank can agree to this and it will hurt your
credit
Foreclosure: Bank
repos the home because of late or delinquent payments (again hurts your
credit)
Buy and Bail:
an act of fraud to buy another home and let your current home go to
foreclosure.
Amera Dream: A
valuable program for home buyers that lets the seller contribute closing
costs and down payment assistance.
FHA loan: A
government backed loan to help buyers get the best rates and low down
payments.
VA Loan: Similar to
FHA loan but is for veterans and can be a wonderful way to obtain a home
even if your credit is not the best.
LSR: Loan Status
Report, a form provided by your Mortgage lender or Bank proving that you
have the resources to purchase a home for the seller.
Federal Nation Mortgage
Association (FNMA): commonly known as Fannie Mae, was established to
create a secondary market for FHA loans.
